When enabled, players can change the starting bid for a single deck from 250 to 150 and the starting bid for a double deck from 500 to 300. At the end of each trick, the winner takes all the cards from the trick and scores points based on those cards. Pinochle is a trick taking and melding game where teams of players try to be the first pair to win 1500 points. With 4, 6, and 8 people, players are divided into teams of 2. The object of Auction pinochle is to form melds and score points. A specific deck is needed, called a Pinochle deck, composed of 48 cards. If you don’t have a Pinochle deck, you can make your own by combining two standard packs (of the same color and design) and leaving out all twos through eights. The double deck can also be used when playing with 4 players; hand sizes, average scores and minimum bids are doubled. Play is similar to regular Pinochle, except 20 cards are dealt to each person and minimum bid is increased to 500 points. This version often features "meld bidding", a bid to your partner letting them know what you have in your hand. This can be any numerical bid, and it is advised that you talk to your partner before the game so you have a better understanding of what their bids mean. It is the game most similar to the original Bezique game, whence Pinochle derived. The only significant difference in its rules from Bezique is the scoring. If you’re looking for a fun and challenging card game to play with a friend, look no further than Pinochle. They will bid ridiculously high with no meld to support such a bid. They always seem to have aces making getting by them to your partner almost impossible. But all in all it is still a fun substitute for the real thing. The trick is won by the player who played the highest trump card, or, if no trump was played, by the player who played the highest card of the suit led. The winning team scores points for each trick taken, as well as for any melds they may have. The player who won the last trick leads the next trick by playing any card from their hand. The other player must then follow suit if possible by playing a card of the same suit. If they cannot follow suit, they can play any card from their hand. Two-handed Pinochle – is a classic two-player game developed in the United States, and it is still one of the country’s most popular games. The basic game of Pinochle is Two-Hand Pinochle, which derives from the European game Bezique.
